Innovation – Establish an innovative research network focusing on digital skills with links to universities locally and internationally;
Collaboration and Agility – Work collaboratively to leverage existing capacity and resources and help existing service providers better align to the MTSF and NDP;
Visionary – Provide diversified, unique digital skills education, training programmes and digital skills upliftment programmes across key stakeholder groups;
Impactful and Integrity – Achieve change by acting as a catalyst to achieve national goals in developing an active citizenry and inclusive Information Society and Knowledge Economy
NEMISA works with international, national, provincial and local partners on collaborative e-skills interventions. It is a globally recognized collaborative model.
NEMISA has created a partnership framework that maximizes impact, avoids duplication, fills gaps, and maximizes the use of infrastructure and resources.
NEMISA is part of the solution to SA’s e-skills challenge.
NEMISA is a globally recognized collaborative model. NEMISA will continue to apply the following approach:
Act as a national catalyst and change agent for the development of teaching and learning e-skills
Collaborate with relevant Post School Education and Training Institutions and other organisations offering e-skills courses/ programmes/ qualifications to maximise the use of existing infrastructure and resources and to ensure that education and training respond to the demands and needs for e-skills in the country
Collaborate with identified role-players (ie government, business, education, organised labour and civil society and global development partners) for e-skills massification
Address all e-skills interventions through teaching and learning, research, innovation, monitoring and evaluation and aggregation
Play a leading and advocacy role in developing users, consumers and citizens within the globally evolving information and knowledge-based environment
Utilise a distributive model (ie physical presence in each of the 9 provinces) that allows for government, business, education, organised labour and civil society to better position South Africa for a Digital society and economy
Facilitate an innovative research network focusing on e-skills with links to public or private university networks and other institutions doings or facilitating research locally and internationally
